NSF maintains a program for accredited certifiers, as well as a directory for listed biological safety cabinets.
Eagleson Institute www.eagleson.org The Eagleson Institute, a nonprofit foundation with a mission to promote the principles and practices of laboratory safety, offers seminars/conferences, produces videotapes and Web-based software, awards scholarships, and sponsors lectures on topics related to biological safety.
World Health Organization www.who.int/en The World Health Organization (WHO) is the United Nations specialized agency for health. WHO's objective is the attainment by all peoples of the highest possible level of health. The WHO Web site provides useful information relating to worldwide health risks and control/prevention programs.

The USDA Web site contains useful information and guidelines for research, notably for Animal Care in Research and Testing.

Environmental Protection Agency www.epa.gov EPA's mission is to protect human health and to safeguard the natural environment - air, water, and land - upon which life depends. EPA provides leadership in the nation's environmental science, research, education and assessment efforts. A particularly interesting program is Laboratories for the 21st Century (Labs21), a program dedicated to improving the environmental performance of U.S. laboratories.

American Biological Safety Association www.absa.org The American Biological Safety Association (ABSA) promotes biosafety as a scientific discipline and serves the growing needs of biosafety professionals throughout the world. Its goals are to provide a professional association that represents the interests and needs of practitioners of biological safety, and to provide a forum for the continued and timely exchange of biosafety in formation.
Controlled Environment Testing Association www.cetainternational.org The Controlled Environment Testing Association (CETA) is devoted to promoting and developing quality assurance within the controlled environment testing industry. Together, professionals from throughout the industry have created a higher standard and a growing non-profit organization. The CETA Web site includes a listing of accredited certifiers.
American Association for Laboratory Animal Science www.aalas.org The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, (AALAS), advances responsible care and use of laboratory animals to benefit people and animals. AALAS is the premier forum for the exchange of information and expertise in the care and use of laboratory animals.
American Society of Health-System Pharmacists www.ashp.org The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) is the national professional association that represents pharmacists who practice in hospitals, health maintenance organizations, long-term care facilities, home care, and other components of health care systems.
