- SterilGARD e3 – introduced in 2008, the new energy-efficient design of Baker’s industry-leading Class II, Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet uses 50–60% less energy to operate. The revolutionary fractional horsepower VFD motor technology also results in less noise and vibration.
- FlexAIR exhaust canopy – Baker’s patented new canopy for externally vented cabinets reduces the use of conditioned air by 20–30%.
- NCB-D Class II, Type B1 cabinet – introduced in 2006, this alternative to “energy hog” total exhaust cabinets, for work involving toxic and/or flammable, volatile chemicals. Reduces use of conditioned air by at least 50%.
- Across the range - longest filter life in the industry – reduces the use of toxic chemicals needed for decontamination.

- Reducing energy usage – New T5 high-output/low-energy light fixtures were installed throughout our factory, offering brighter light while using 50% less energy.
- Eliminating harmful by-products – Painting operations were overhauled from solvent-based to the more environmentally friendly powder-based paints, practically eliminating harmful VOC emissions and toxic waste.
- Saving natural resources – Baker is in the process of migrating all internal documentation into a paperless approach as part of its commitment to environmental sustainability.
- Promoting conservation best practices – In addition to expanding our available content on our web site, all new sales literature and other Baker publications are printed with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification.
